Son and Mom Muscle Up!
Robin, age 46, and her son Ted, age 13, both train at PowerSource and both came in with the goal of building some muscle and strength.
Robin is the mother of Ted, age 13, and Charlie, age 11. She felt she wanted to get firmer and develop her muscle tone. Since she's been weight training she's had no colds, greater energy and in only one month was much firmer and more toned.
Ted, who plays baseball, basketball, and football for Edina, wanted to "get muscles" and to get stronger for sports, especially football and baseball. He also said he "wants to look like his trainer Tom!"
Since beginning his workouts, Ted has gained 20 pounds of muscle, slimmed his waist, made bigger shoulders and is much stronger. He can pitch the baseball faster and tackle harder in football!
Thanks to Robin and Ted for showing how great it is to make more muscle!

Training for the Summer Olympics 2012!
Katie, age 14, is in the 9th grade
and is a catcher in fast pitch softball. She
plays catcher for varsity and junior varsity and
metropolitan fast pitch softball. She has already
caught the attention of the U of M coaches and
is training with the head coach of the Gophers.
Katie started training with her mom Lorraine
at PowerSource in her 7th and 8th grade
years. Katie started training at PowerSource to
get in condition for the six hours a day, five
days a week softball schedule.
Her trainer, Tom, has her doing squats,
lunges, and ab work to help with her position
as catcher.
Katie says that her weight training has made
the game easier to play, because she has more
endurance and flexibility. It has helped her
throw the ball faster, increasing her speed
from the low 50's to 64-66 miles per hour.
In addition, she is eating a healthy training
diet and as a result is down 40 pounds and
3 sizes! Her dream is to play in the Olympics
someday! Go Katie!

Grampy and Granddaughter Get Buff!
Dick Larson, age 73, who is otherwise known as Coach Grampy, has trained at PowerSource Personal Training for over four years. He has
reached his goal of benching 235lbs and has gotten totally buff.
Coach Grampy brought in his granddaughter, Katie, 18, a student athlete to help her build more muscle and strength to make her safer and stronger for her sports hockey and tennis. We taught Katie the basic powerlifting moves: squat, bench press, and deadlift. She had never learned these moves before. Katie feels her legs are stronger, her hockey shot has gotten more powerful, she is stronger on her skates, and feels much faster on the ice. She can squat 115lbs and bench press 65lbs. Katie also likes the toned look she has gotten.
Coach Grampy says it was surprising to see how strong Katie is. He enjoys helping her set mini goals for her on going fi tness. Coach Grampy inspires many people to set new physical goals and to train hard. He lives what he teaches –
he’s still a coach and inspiration at 73! |
